State Senator Mike McGuire is Acting Governor While Newsom is in Chicago
A former Healdsburg High School graduate is acting as California’s Governor this week. State Senate President Pro-Temp Mike McGuire is stepping up as Acting Governor this week while Gavin Newsom is in Chicago at the Democratic National Convention. McGuire issued a statement, saying it was an honor to serve as Acting Governor while students return to school across the state, and that his office is in constant contact with Cal Fire during this hot, dry part of late summer. McGuire graduated from Healdsburg High in 1997.
