WILMINGTON, De. - A Delaware man accused of duping people into making down payments for home improvement projects that he had no intention of finishing was charged Thursday. Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki issued the following statement today regarding the death of Glenn Hamilton, who passed away on Friday, August 23, surrounded by his family. “It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Glenn Hamilton, who served the people of Wilmington with distinction for nearly 18 years. More than just a dedicated public servant, Glenn was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. I knew him as a charismatic individual who was very active in the community – especially when it came to our young people. He was firm in his belief that everyone has the ability to change his or her path and was dedicated to changing the world one child at a time. Glenn’s passing has hit many extremely hard, and on behalf of our City employees and our residents, I extend condolences to the Hamilton family and his many friends, colleagues, and constituents. We will all miss Glenn, his professionalism and his dedication to public service.”
