    DNR Conservation Officer’s Report:

    • CO Trent Seamans (Big Lake) focused patrol activity on sport fishing and boating safety. Unfortunately, many folks were not following the rules over the busy weekend. Violations encountered included fishing without a license, fishing with extra lines, and operating a motorboat under the influence of alcohol.

    • CO Adam Stennett (Annandale) worked fishing, boating and ATV enforcement. Area lakes saw heavy traffic due to the holiday weekend. Two anglers were found to be in possession of four walleyes, three of which were over 20 inches. Enforcement action was taken for an overlimit, having more than one walleye over 20 inches. Operation Dry Water was worked throughout the Fourth of July weekend. Stennett made an arrest for boating while intoxicated and assisted Seamans with another. Other enforcement action for the week included boat registration issues, jet ski violations, not having enough life jackets on board a boat, operating ATVs on state highways, ATV-passenger violations, and open containers of alcohol on ATVs.
