The City of Golden Valley approved and published its new Equity Plan earlier this year. “We’re seeking to have more equitable engagement, creating more opportunities for community to have their input in the work of the city so that it ultimately hopefully reflects those needs and has better impact,” said Seth Kaempfer, the city’s equity and inclusion manager. “We don’t want to withhold information. We want community to have access to it. We want community to be able to understand it and see where we’re trying to go as a city but where we’re trying to go with community as a city as well.”
Family of child who drowned at Quarry Park calling for it to be closed
(Waite Park, MN) -- The family of a teen who drowned after jumping off a cliff into the water at Quarry Park and Nature Preserve is asking questions. Authorities say 17-year-old Emmanuel Seward Jr. of Brooklyn Center never resurfaced after plunging from a ten-foot cliff into the water, and his body was later recovered by a diving team in around 30-feet of water. Seward's family says this is the third drowning there in recent years and are calling for the area to be closed.

A motorcyclist from Glencoe was injured in a crash between the cycle and a farm tractor early Friday afternoon in Sibley County.
