The Job Seeker Market in the St. Cloud Area Could Be Changing
It is still more of a job seeker market in St. Cloud but that trend is starting to change for the first time since the pandemic. Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation Talent Director Gail Cruikshank joined me on WJON. She says they have 5,500 jobs available within the 3 county area, as of last week. Cruikshank says they peaked at 8,000 jobs available in 2020 during the pandemic.

In the aftermath of the intense thunderstorm that besieged our city on the night of July 13th, Minneapolis residents are navigating streets strewn with the casualties of nature's latest outburst. The windswept chaos left in its wake, a plethora of downed trees and branches, has resulted in considerable street blockages and extensive power outages. "I'm saddened to see the loss of beautiful, long-standing neighborhood trees but am thankful that we haven't received any reports of injuries thus far," was reflected in a community bulletin from the city last night.

Red Wing man admits to killing his two-month old son
RED WING, Minn. – A man accused of murdering his infant son is pleading guilty. Hunter Matthew McCutchen, 28 of Red Wing, was charged with 15 crimes including murder, manslaughter, assault, malicious punishment of a child, child torture, and endangerment of a child for the death of his two month old son in May 2023.

Minnesota Reels from Weekend Storms
(KNSI) – Power is still out in some areas, and cleanup continues after severe weather raked Minnesota over the weekend. Widespread reports of wind damage and large hail occurred with the rounds of thunderstorms from July 13th and 14th. Some of the largest hail came out of a strong supercell dropping hail stones around Big Lake and Monticello the size of softballs. Elsewhere, hail between the size of golf balls to hen’s eggs. Numerous downed branches and trees were also reported stretching from Alexandria through central Minnesota to the Twin Cities. The highest wind gust recorded at the St. Cloud Airport was 49 miles an hour. Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport saw a 62 mile an hour wind gust. Alexandria and Sauk Centre saw wind gusts in the 50s. One tornado was also confirmed in Rice County. Damage there was mostly to crops. St. Cloud officially recorded 2.2″ of rain on Saturday.
