CARSTEN DIGIANTOMASSO FLIES TO, THEN IN WALL’S GARDEN STATE CLASSIC
WALL, NJ – Carsten DiGiantomasso made the two hour flight from his Mooresville, NC home well worth it as he raced to victory in the 125 lap Gardebn State Classic at Wall Stadium Speedway Saturday night. Formerly of Jackson, DiGiantomasso took a job with NASCAR’s JR Motorsports after winning the opening night main event here on April 20. Saturday’s victory made it two wins in two starts for the popular Modfieid stock car driver.

U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials: Indy's Cole Hocker is going to Paris
EUGENE, Ore. — Cole Hocker is still going to the Paris Olympics. Just not in the 5,000 meters. In his fifth race over 10 days, the 23-year-old from Indianapolis finished seventh Sunday at the U.S. Olympic Trials. He had earlier become the first to win the 1,500 back-to-back at the trials since Jim Ryun in 1968 and 1972.
Women’s Bowling receives Academic Conference Awards
INDIANAPOLIS Ind. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced the entirety of its academic honors over the last week. Newman Women's Bowling received high honors with both team and individual successes off the lanes. The 2023-24 Team Academic All-Conference Award recognizes each team from full-time and associate member institutions that have maintained a 3.30 grade point average for the academic year. INDIANAPOLIS - Some local names made the list for the 2024 Indiana Academic All-State Team. To qualify you must be a senior, as well as play in 70% of the team games. If a player is the valedictorian or salutatorian of their school, it is an automatic qualification. Students can also qualify with a score of 8 on the academic formula. Texas A&M hires Indiana native Michael Earley as baseball coach
COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas A&M has hired Michael Earley to take over as the 21st baseball coach at the school. Earley, an Anderson High School graduate, was the hitting coach for the Aggies for the past three seasons, helping the team to two College World Series appearances and a national runner-up finish in 2024.

Chris King Makes Big Strides in Norwalk
For Chris King and the Howard Cams/Competition Products Dodge Funny Car the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals was a huge step forward for their young Funny Car program. In just the second race of the season for the Chicago-based team owner and driver, King was able to make four solid qualifying runs and give a world champion a battle to the finish line in the opening round. King and his Bob Peck crew chiefed Funny Car bounced back from a tough race in Chicago last month to make the 16-car qualified field and give the fans a solid race in the first round.
