A 27-year-old man was arrested Monday night in Los Angeles after he allegedly carjacked a truck with an attached trailer used as a mobile coffee business from Moorpark, authorities said.

The truck had been left at Gabbert Road near Elwin Lane in Moorpark with the motor running and an employee inside the trailer, said Capt. Carl Patterson of the Ventura County Sheriff's Office. The agency is contracted by the city of Moorpark to provide police services.

The sheriff's office received a call about the carjacking at 8:20 p.m., but by the time the pursuit began on Highway 118 and streets, it was in the Los Angeles Police Department’s jurisdiction, Patterson said.

An employee of the businesswas in the trailer when the man hopped into the truck and drove off, Patterson said. He added the employee jumped out of the trailer as the truck started to move.

The employee was later transported by ambulance to Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks for minor injuries, Patterson said.

Los Angeles police pursued and caught the man after he turned a street corner too quickly and flipped over the trailer. Officers caught him after he fled on foot, Patterson said.

The rollover happened before the suspect reached Tujunga Avenue and Chandler Boulevard in North Hollywood, according to KCAL-TV, which showed footage of the trailer flipping on its newscasts. Patterson said he didn’t have location details other than Los Angeles.

The man, who is living temporarily in Moorpark, was retrieved by sheriff's deputies and booked into Ventura County jail Tuesday morning on suspicion of multiple felonies, including carjacking, unlawful driving or taking of a vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident, according to Patterson and jail records.

His bail is set at $130,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, jail records show.
