It sounds like government jargon about fire safety. But, a state designation could save tens of thousands of people in the Tri-Counties money on their fire insurance. The California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection just completed a review of wildfire risk planning in cities and counties around the state. Some jurisdictions which met top safety criteria have been designated as Fire Risk Reduction Communities.
Family of retired California deputy missing in Greece call off search, suspect foul play
The family of a retired California sheriff’s deputy missing in Greece said that the search for him has ended but that they fear foul play is involved in his disappearance. Albert Calibet, who left the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in 2018, was on vacation and getting ready to head to the Greek island of Amorgos when he vanished on June 11. His family said he had repeatedly visited the island since 2009.
