Mazey: One of a Kind, a WVU Coaches Show special, premieres this weekend

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — After 12 incredible seasons that took WVU baseball to new heights, head coach Randy Mazey is retiring.

This weekend, fans can relive the memories from his tenure during a special edition episode of The WVU Coaches Show.

Mazey: One of a Kind , a Gold and Blue Nation production in partnership with WVU Athletics and Learfield, premieres this Friday and Saturday on TV stations throughout the region.

Featuring interviews with the Mazey family, colleagues in coaching and past and present Mountaineers, this documentary-style special chronicles Mazey’s tenure at WVU, including his greatest accomplishments — on and off the field.

Watch the premiere of Mazey: One of a Kind Friday at 7 p.m. on SportsNet Pittsburgh. The program will also air Saturday morning on the following Nexstar stations in West Virginia:

• WVNS-CBS (9 a.m.)

This special episode of The WVU Coaches Show will be archived at GoldAndBlueNation.com and on the free Gold and Blue Nation app for on-demand viewing. It will also serve as the season finale for The WVU Coaches Show.

Mazey retires as the third-winningest coach in WVU baseball history, leading the program to four NCAA Tournament appearances and producing 37 MLB Draft picks.

He served as the program’s only coach since its move to the Big 12 Conference during the 2012-13 academic year, and orchestrated the team’s transition to Kendrick Family Ballpark, which is regarded as one of the top venues in college baseball.
