    2 people charged after officers find drugs in ‘irregular bulge’ in woman’s pants in Monongalia County

    MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — Two people were charged after officers seized several types of drugs during a traffic stop in Monongalia County.

    On July 15, troopers with the Monongalia County detachment of the West Virginia State Police pulled over a vehicle near mile marker 152 of I-79 in Morgantown because it had “very dark tinted windows,” according to a criminal complaint.

    While speaking with with the vehicle’s driver, Valerie Smith, 35, and a passenger of the vehicle, Khorie Morris, 25, both of Morgantown, troopers could “detected the odor of marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle,” and detained Smith and Morris, according to the complaint.

    Troopers were then able to located “a raw measurable amount of a green leafy substance,” the complaint said.

    While searching Smith, a female deputy found “an irregular bulge near the pelvic area” and recovered “a large quantity” of a crystal-like substance, troopers said.

    Smith and Morris have been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. They are being held in North Central Regional Jail on $50,000 bond.
