Iron Horse Tavern celebrates 10 years of business in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — Iron Horse Tavern , a bar and restaurant in Morgantown, celebrated its 10th anniversary on Saturday and expressed its gratitude to the community and customers who have supported it through its many years of business.

Since opening in 2014, Iron Horse Tavern has become one of the highest-rated and most-reviewed restaurants in Morgantown and is known for its elevated bar food like burgers and handmade pierogis, as well as its varied selection of West Virginia craft beer.

Manager of the restaurant Thomas Moore said he was especially thankful for everyone’s patronage over the years as well as the different partnerships and collaborations with other local businesses in the High Street area.

“We made it through COVID, we’ve kind of been one of the anchors down here with a number of the other businesses, and we wouldn’t be here without the community, so that’s really, really been an important part of what we’re doing,” Moore said.

In addition to food specials and raffles, patrons were treated to a tap takeover from The Peddler , a brewery that came up from Huntington to provide the beer for the event, giving Morgantown craft beer fans a rare chance to try beer from the southern part of the state.
