3 ways Christian Help can help you in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — Christian Help in Morgantown hosted an open house to raise awareness of how they can help those in need on Saturday. Despite the name, Christian Help’s services are open to anyone and everyone, and offers everything from clothing and food, to financial and career help — all you have to do is walk in the door.

If you need any kind of assistance, here are three ways Christian Help can, well… help!

Free store and career clothing

Just inside the building’s front door on Walnut Street is Christian Help’s free store. The free store lets anyone fill up one bag of clothes, including shirts, winter coats, shoes and much more. The store has a wide selection of men’s and women’s clothing, and even some children’s clothing and other household items.

Christian Help also has men’s and women’s “career closets,” which offer professional-looking and work-appropriate clothing for many different jobs like scrubs, overalls, suits, ties, dresses and dress shoes.

Career help and life skills

If you’re looking for a job or looking to get back into the workforce, Christain Help offers interview coaching and resume-building classes to make sure you’re putting your best foot forward in your search.

Jesse Vermette, Events Coordinator for Christian Help, told 12 News in an interview that his favorite service they offer is the Jobs for Life program, which develops your professional skills.

“People come in, they learn how to interview, how to write a resume, and just learn about the skills that would benefit them to be able to get back into the job force or just progress themselves professionally,” Vermette said.

Emergency food pantry

Christian Help also has a food pantry; once every 30 days people in need of food can receive a 3-5 day emergency supply of food and toiletries, as well as baby and pet food.
