LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged three men with multiple felony drug and firearm offenses. The investigation, which began over a year ago and included additional search and seizure warrants in December 2023, led to the indictment of John Kevin Fitzgerald Reed, 60, of Charlotte Hall; James Nathaniel Reed, 77, of Mechanicsville; and Francis Lavern Reed, 55, of Mechanicsville.

On 8/19/2024, S/T Oyler responded to the Harris Teeter parking lot in California MD for the report of a verbal domestic. Upon further investigation CDS was observed in plain sight. It was determined the female subject Hulce, Leisha Kurlansik, 64 of Welcome, MD was in possession of CDS. Hulce was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where she was charged with CDS: possession-not cannabis.

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – Luis Saul Hernandez-Samayoa of Lexington Park, Maryland, is now facing serious animal cruelty charges after a distressing discovery on June 14, 2024, at his property. According to official court documents, two pit bulls, called “Jay” and “Coco,” were found locked in a shed where temperatures persisted well above 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The dogs were reportedly in a state of severe distress when authorities arrived.

Nicholas John Roske, a California man, is set to stand trial in June 2025 for allegedly attempting to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Roske was arrested in June 2022 near Kavanaugh’s home in Maryland, armed with a gun, knife, and zip ties. He pleaded not guilty to the charge, which carries a potential life sentence. Roske reportedly told authorities he was motivated by a leaked draft opinion suggesting the Supreme Court might overturn Roe v. Wade, as well as concerns over gun control following the Uvalde school shooting.
