    Golf Recaps April 18-24

    Below are summaries of local golf games between April 18 and April 24, compiled by Sports Editor Nick Tabatt.

    Flyers boys place third at GRC meet; girls playing well despite windy weather

    The Little Falls Flyers boys golf team competed at the Granite Ridge Conference meet Tuesday, April 23. Nine holes were played in Foley and the other nine in Pierz. Ryan Oothoudt led the team in ninth place, scoring 81.

    The Little Falls Flyers girls golfers performed well in their last two meets, especially with both involving cold weather. The girls traveled to Mora Monday, April 22. Imagine Hines shot a 92.

    The girls played a nine-hole game in Pierz Tuesday, April 23. Hines ended the game shooting a 40 and Olivia Dempsey followed with a score of 51.

    Pierz boys place sixth at GRC meet; Pierz girls play well in three-meet week

    The Pierz Pioneers boys golf team placed sixth at thr Granite Ridge Conference meet with part of it held in Pierz Tuesday, April 23. Nathan Cekalla tied for second with a score of 77.

    The Pioneers also competed at a tournament in Becker Thursday, April 18. The team placed 13th out of fifteen teams.

    The Pioneers girls golf team had a busy three-meet week. The Pioneers took fourth at the Sauk Centre Invite Wednesday, April 24. Whitney and Kari LeBlanc tied for ninth place, scoring 96.

    The Pioneers took third at the meet in Mora Monday, April 22. Kari LeBlanc led the team in ninth place (93). The Pioneers also hosted part of the Granite Ridge Conference meet Thursday, April 18, where they finished in third place.

    Royals boys and girls making progress

    The Royalton Royalton Royals boys golf team continue to improve in its last two meets. The Royals Competed at Nisswa Thursday, April 18, placing 19th (391 tream points) out of 21 teams. Reed Wanhala and Matthew Hollenback tied with a score of 98.

    The Royals also took fourth (with 184 team points) at the Central Minnesota Conference meet in Atwater Tuesday, April 23.

    The Royals’ Myrissa Sobiech and Hannah Krueger team at a six-six-six format tournament at Koronis Hills Golf Club in Paynesville, Wednesday, April 24. They shot a score of 110, earning them 17th place.
