Morrison County Board of Commissioners briefs

In other business Tuesday, May 7, the Morrison County Board of Commissioners:

• Approved a grant application for hanger improvement design services to the Little Falls/Morrison County Airport and if awarded, authorized the services agreement with TKDA Inc. from St. Paul. The engineering design fee is $88,800 with federal funding requested in the amount of $79,920 and state funding in the amount of $4,440. The remainder, $4,440, will be funded with local funds split between Morrison County and Little Falls;

• Approved a resolution for the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association to hold a raffle on May 21 at Rice Creek Hunting and Recreation in Little Falls;

• Approved a resolution for the Hillman Area Whitetail Management Association to hold a Raffle on Dec. 7 at Porky Pine and Grill in Hillman;

• Approved Food, Pool and Lodging (FPL) seasonal license renewals for Hardy’s Lake in the Woods at a cost of $1,216, Fish Trap Lake Campground at a cost of $1,456 and Moto Grub at a cost of $310;

• Approved FPL new licenses for the Beehive Resort, Nana’s Kitchen and RM BBQ Beast;

• Approved the implementation of the SOAR (Salary Observation Awareness Research) Project along with the salary scale for 2025 as recommended by David Drown and Associates as a result of a compensation and classification study utilizing the JET system; and

• Approved a Conditional Use Permit application for Five Starr Ranch to construct a 190-foot self-supported telecommunications tower located in Section 10 of Lakin Township, per recommendation from the Morrison County Planning Commission on Tuesday, April 30.

The next Morrison County Board of Commissioners meeting is a planning session at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, in the Board Room at the Morrison County Government Center.
