Refunds Available for Paper, Web, and Mobile App Tickets Until December 31, 2024

MORRISTOWN, NJ — NJ TRANSIT has begun processing refunds for unused one-way tickets purchased before June 1, 2024. This refund initiative will run through December 31, 2024. Customers can receive refunds for unused paper tickets or printed web tickets at any NJ TRANSIT ticket office or window.

For paper and web tickets, customers should bring their unused tickets to the ticket office, providing contact information and, if possible, their original purchase receipt. If the receipt is not available, customers will need to supply contact details and the last four digits of the credit card used for the purchase to facilitate the refund. Processing these refunds may take approximately three to four weeks as NJ TRANSIT verifies the tickets with their Refund Department.

Customers with unused Mobile App tickets purchased before June 1, 2024, do not need to take any action. These unused tickets are automatically converted to a credit in the customer's electronic wallet within the Mobile App.

Additionally, NJ TRANSIT has updated its policy for all one-way and rail ten-trip tickets purchased on or after July 1, 2024. These tickets are now valid for 30 days from the date of purchase.

For more details on the refund process, visit NJ TRANSIT's official website or contact their customer service.
