Morristown Girls Lacrosse Defeats Morris Knolls on Senior Day
MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Morristown girls lacrosse team defeated Morris Knolls; 14-4 on Senior Day. The Colonials improved to 18-1 after the win. Megan O'Brien and Cathleen Moran led Morristown with three goals a piece. O'Brien had three assists and Moran had one. Teammates Anna Rivetti and Anna Szporn each added two goals. MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Morristown softball team fell to Randolph; 2-0 on Thursday afternoon. The Colonials weren't able to scratch anything across the plate. Randolph scored their goals in the top of the 5th and 7th innings. Callie Volker was on the mound for Morristown. Lou Grasso Resigns as Union H.S. Football Coach
UNION, NJ -- Lou Grasso announced his resignation as the head football coach at Union High School this week. Grasso has accepted the position of athletic director at Colonia High School in Middlesex County, where he will succeed longtime Colonia A.D. The coach at Union for the last 11 seasons, Grasso posted a record of 67-49 at Union, winning the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 championship in 2019. Chatham Senior Himstreet Wins 3200 at Morris County Track & Field Championships; 4x400 Relay 2nd; McCarron 3rd in Hurdles
BOONTON, NJ -- Chatham senior Caroline Himstreet claimed her second gold medal by winning the 3200 at the Morris County Track & Field Championships with a personal record time of 10:53.42 on Friday at Boonton High. "I was more nervous than usual," Himstreet said of the 3200. "However, I tried to stay calm when I was racing, and like the 1600, it came down to the last 200 meters. Julia McCarron took 3rd in the 100 hurdles with a personal-record time of 15.65 and Nacinovich placed 5th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.00 for the Cougars. MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Morristown baseball team defeated Morris Tech 4-1 on Thursday afternoon. The Colonials are on a five-game win streak. Morris Tech struck first, scoring their only run in the first inning. Morristown added two of their own in the bottom of the third and fourth innings. Colonial Pitcher Dominic Correale was able to keep the Devils off the board. Montclair Girls Track, Field Makes it Back-to-Back SEC American Titles
The Montclair girls track and field team followed up winning the top Super Essex Conference division championship last season with another last weekend. The Mounties girls team outscored Livingston, 131-121 points as Montclair won their fifth American championship in the last six meets (the 2020 meet was not held because of COVID). The Mounties boys team finished fifth with 43 points in the SEC American Division race with Seton Hall Prep coming in first with 129 points.
