On August 10, 2024, from the time stores open until they close, the Downtown Sidewalk Sale will be taking place. Suwannee Riverkeeper Songwriting Contest deadline extended
HAHIRA – The Suwannee Riverkeeper Songwriting Contest has extend the entry form deadline for two more weeks. Songwriters now have two more weeks, until Wednesday, August 7, to send in your story in song about any river, creek, spring, sink, swamp, pond, aquifer, or bay in the Suwannee River Basin or Estuary, except not in the Santa Fe River Basin.
Turner Center to host gallery opening with free admission
VALDOSTA – The Turner Center for the Arts will host a free gallery opening that will feature exhibits with works from multiple artists. The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts will hold a new gallery exhibit reception on Mon., August 5, from 5 to 7 p.m., at 527 N. Patterson Street. The Center will feature the works of Sherry Allen, “Wildlife Encounters,” Natalia Andreeva, “Vivid Visions: Capturing Life’s Beauty,” Teresa Cook, “See Jacksonville x Valdosta,” and the re-installation of the East African Artifact Permanent Collection. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served.
