Westmont Elementary Won’t Open On Time For The First Day Of School Monday
Westmont Elementary students will have a brand new building this school year, but it won’t be open when classes begin on Monday. The old Westmont Elementary building was torn down at the end of the 2021-2022 school year, making way for the new state-of-the-art facility that can house up to 900 students. The plan was to have the building ready for the new school year that begins Monday, August 5.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A woman died after being shot during an incident on Ellis Street over the weekend, the Richmond County Coroner says Thursday. MACON, Ga. — It's been almost a week since construction workers found Gabby Dixon's body near a work site in Monroe County. Darryl Searcy, Dixon's stepfather, says the family is glad Gabby has been found. He says Dixon was found almost a mile from the home where 19-year-old Jatavius Price was found.
