Russ McKamey, owner of the controversial haunted house, McKamey Manor, has been arrested. Per PEOPLE, McKamey was arrested on July 19 on charges of sexual assault, domestic violence, and attempted murder. McKamey is scheduled for an initial court appearance in August. Fish Fry Raises Funds for New Hickory Valley Fire Truck
The Hardeman County Community showed up on Saturday, July 13, 2024, to support Hickory Valley’s goal of raising $100,000 to go towards a new fire truck. There were 199 catfish plates sold during the fundraiser, which helped to bring them even closer to their goal. Marchello Moore Sentenced to 210 Years in Prison for Robbery Crime Spree
A Memphis man Marchello Moore was sentenced to 210 years in prison for a series of business robberies, according to the United States Department of Justice. The Department of Justice reported that 43-year-old Marchello Moore escaped from a halfway house and embarked on a robbery spree in March 2022. In February 2024, Moore was convicted of eight counts of robbery, eight counts of using a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and one count of attempted robbery. He had previously pled guilty to escaping from federal custody at the halfway house where he was serving a sentence for business and bank robberies committed in 2014.
