It has been a great year for athletes in West Texas competing for an Olympic medal. Friday morning at Stade de France, Nigerian sprinter Rosemary Chukwuma, who recently wrapped her time as a runner for the Red Raiders, advanced to Saturday’s semifinals in the Women’s 100m. As she crossed the line at 11.26 seconds, the third-best in her heat, she advanced to the next round.
