Moses Lake Grocery Outlet Kicks Off 14th Annual 'Independence from Hunger® Food Drive’ Campaign
MOSES LAKE – Grocery Outlet Bargain Market in Moses Lake launched its 14th Annual Independence from Hunger® Food Drive on Thursday to combat food insecurity and support families in vulnerable and disadvantaged communities throughout America. From June 26 to July 31, the Moses Lake Grocery Outlet is teaming up with Care Moses Lake, a local non-profit, to collect food and cash donations in-store. Data from the United States Department of Agriculture and Feeding America shows that inflation is causing a double squeeze in communities across the nation. As prices rise, the number of Americans who rely on food banks has increased to 41 million, or 1 in 6 households, while donations to these food banks have declined. Each independently owned and operated Grocery Outlet store is committed to giving back to its community and has partnered locally to bring the community together in providing families with nutritious food. The company estimates its business model can save shoppers as much as 40% over conventional grocery stores, on average, according to its website.
