Viking Football opens season Thursday at Minot State
The Valley City State football team takes the field Thursday for its 2024 season opener at former rival Minot State, facing off for the first time since 2010. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in Minot and all fans will receive free admission to the game. Minot State is now a member of the NCAA Division II, but was a former member of the NAIA and VCSU's old conference: the Dakota Athletic Conference.

Detroit Man Sentenced For Drug Trafficking In North Dakota
(Minot, ND) — A Detroit man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for drug trafficking in North Dakota after taking a plea deal. Investigators say 35-year-old Armani Mosely is one of four people who trafficked fentanyl, meth, and oxycodone in Minot and at the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation. He and the other three were arrested in 2022. Authorities say the group used the U.S. Postal Service and other carriers to help distribute the drugs.
