OPD: Bomgaars Manager Arrested for False Returns
A former manager of Bomgaars in Ottumwa was arrested after admitting to making false returns. 38-year-old Roseanne Whited of Clio was charged with 2nd degree theft. On August 14, court records say officials read Whited her rights and interviewed her concerning a theft while managing Bomgaars on 1331 Vaughn Drive. Authorities say Whited began her position as a manager around April 2024. Whited admitted to officials that she made several false returns and kept the money for herself. Court records say Whited stole an estimated $2,000 and the amount could be higher according to loss prevention.

Lorimor man charged after shooting in Creston
A Lorimor man is facing an attempted murder charge after a shooting in Creston. Creston Police received a report of gunshots on a local street around 7:40 Thursday morning and as they proceeded to the scene got a report of a man with multiple gunshot wounds at the Greater Regional Health Center. The shooting victim was airlifted to a Des Moines hospital and police say he is expected to recover. Creston police and Iowa DCI.
