    • A traffic stop Wednesday night on Rockford Street resulted in a Pinnacle woman’s arrest on a felony drug charge, according to Mount Airy Police Department reports.

    Melissa Anne Carlino, 40, of 2052 High Bridge Road, is accused of possession of methamphetamine along with misdemeanor violations of possessing drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

    Carlino, operating a 2007 Toyota Corolla, additionally was charged with driving while license revoked and displaying a fictitious license tag.

    She was confined in the Surry County Jail under a $2,500 secured bond and is facing an appearance in District Court next Monday.

    • A Winston-Salem man who was at Northern Regional Hospital was served by city police Wednesday with outstanding criminal summonses on charges of cyberstalking and communicating threats which had been filed in Davidson County on March 24, for which no details were listed.

    Afterward, Christopher Robert Chamness, 47, was turned over to hospital personnel and is awaiting a June 25 court date in Davidson.

    • Shamal Niquan Cox, 27, listed as homeless, was jailed for second-degree trespassing, which records indicate occurred at Mount Airy Police Department property on Rockford Street after Cox had been banned from those premises last September.

    He was discovered there again on May 22 during a suspicious-person investigation and incarcerated under a $500 secured bond. Cox was slated to be in Surry District Court on Monday of this week.

    • Fernando Martinez-Chimal, 32, of 205 Westwind Court, was charged with hit and run/leaving the scene of a crash in the wake of a May 20 incident at the McDonald’s fast-foot restaurant on Rockford Street.

    Martinez-Chimal, who also was driving without a license, according to arrest details, is scheduled to be in District Court on Sept. 6.
