    • A Mount Airy man was jailed under a $102,000 secured bond late Sunday after a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Rockford Street, according to city police reports.

    Samuel Joe Freeman, aka Daniel Joe Freeman, 50, of 2400 Asbury Road, was found to be wanted on two felony probation violations in Stokes County dating to November 2018, and also was charged Sunday night with resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer.

    Freeman is facing additional charges of possession of marijuana and possessing drug paraphernalia and is scheduled to be in Surry District Court on Aug. 19.

    • Angela Joyce Corns, 49, of 127 Effie Lane, was confined in the Surry County Jail without privilege of bond Tuesday, when she was charged with second-degree trespassing at Bargain Bin, a store in Mayberry Mall, after a suspicious-person incident.

    Corns is facing an Aug. 19 District Court appearance.

    • IC Building Supply on North South Street was discovered on July 5 to have been broken into by forcibly opening and damaging a door.

    No property was listed as missing.

    • A Dobson man is facing felony charges related to his alleged possession of a stolen Harley-Davidson and drug possession stemming from a July 2 encounter with officers in the 1000 block of South Main Street.

    The 1996-model motorcycle, valued at $3,700, had been stolen from an unidentified party in Surry County.

    During his arrest in the city limits, Shane Nicholas Snider, 37, of 186 Lyndsey Way, also was charged with possession of methamphetamine.

    He was incarcerated in Dobson under a $15,000 secured bond and is awaiting a July 22 District Court date.

    • Piedmont Triad Mechanical on Fancy Gap Road was the scene of a theft discovered on July 2, which targeted HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) duct work valued at $600.
