    • A Mount Airy man has become a victim of fraud, according to city police reports.

    The incident, reported last Friday, resulted in an undisclosed sum of money being lost by James Monroe Johnson of Stewart Drive.

    Police records do not state how the crime involving the obtaining of property/money by false pretense was perpetrated.

    An unknown party is said to have been involved.

    • Lowe’s Home Improvement was the scene of a felonious larceny on July 11, when a Honda/EU 2,200-watt generator valued at about $1,100 was taken by a known suspect.

    Despite that person’s identity being pinpointed, no arrest had occurred at last report.

    The generator is described as black and red in color.

    • Jacob Brian Bell, 33, of 115 John St., was held in the Surry County Jail without privilege of bond after being charged with domestic assault on July 8.

    Bell is alleged to have shoved Savannah Antoinette McDaniel into a dresser.

    He is scheduled to be in District Court on Aug. 19.

    • An attempted break-in occurred on July 11 at the residence of Nick Albert Perkins on Mayberry Avenue.

    No property was listed as either stolen or damaged.
