    • A suspicious-vehicle investigation at Circle K on North Main Street early Monday led to a Mount Airy man being jailed without privilege of bond on felony drug charges including possession of crack-cocaine and methamphetamine, according to city police reports.

    In addition to those violations, Keelan Antonio Tayshawn Goodwin, 26, of 208 Long St., is accused of five misdemeanors reflecting the multiple unlawful substances with which he was found.

    Those include possession of up to a half-ounce of marijuana, simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of a Schedule III controlled substance and possessing marijuana paraphernalia.

    Goodwin is facing an Aug. 19 appearance in Surry District Court.

    • Police learned last Thursday that Kimberly Dawn Adame, a Willow Hill Circle resident, was the victim of identity theft.

    This involved an unknown suspect obtaining Adame’s Social Security number to file a tax return.

    • Brian Kevin Payne, 46, of 9752 Highway 89-West in Westfield, was charged with larceny last Thursday at Lowe’s Home Improvement, where he allegedly stole miscellaneous hardware items valued at $430.

    The merchandise was recovered intact and Payne is facing an Aug. 19 District Court date.

    • Police were told on July 12 that a coin/currency machine had been broken into at Wash and Shine Carwash in the 800 block of East Pine Street.

    An undisclosed sum of money was taken from the device, listed as quarters.
