Thieves vandalize popular Torrance restaurant, steal safe
A popular restaurant in Torrance has added new security layers after it was targeted by thieves in an incident that was caught on surveillance video.Footage captured the break-in at Aunty Maile's Hawaiian Restaurant last week. It shows two thieves crawling on the floor through the restaurant after entering through a smashed window. They then went straight for a safe that was bolted to the ground.The owners had just returned home after attending a funeral in Hawaii when their alarm company called to alert them."We have an amazing community and a lot of support from the community," said owner Kai Tsukiyama. "They're all coming out just to do what they can to help us out, which is amazing. We couldn't be more thankful. It's definitely hard. We weren't prepared for it and it's one of the rare occasions when they actually got a lot, and it hurt us quite a bit."Despite the break-in, the owners managed to repair the broken windows and reopened the restaurant without any delays.Meanwhile, anyone with information on the break-in is urged to contact authorities.

Alerts have been issued by two law enforcement agencies after authorities said a 12-year-old girl was abducted in Long Beach.Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Friday, the California Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert for Teriana Mahomes. No injuries reported after train derails in Carson
No injuries have been reported after a Union Pacific train derailed in Carson on Sunday. It's unclear what exactly caused the train to go off the tracks near the 22400 block of Alameda Street, but Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department investigators say that there was some property damage that occurred as a result of the incident. Deputies also noted that Union Pacific Police will be handling the investigation. Public rallies for family of child with autism who was slapped by grown man
Residents of Pacoima rallied together to support the family of a young boy with autism after he was slapped in the face by a grown man in a disturbing on-camera assault. Alfredo Morales and his family were crossing the street in Pacoima on Monday near the intersection of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Osborne Street when the child touched the logo of a Mercedes Benz that was stopped while waiting for the traffic light to change. Video captured that moments later, the driver of that vehicle furiously approached Morales and slapped him across the face.
