New Foundations Development Inc. of Gordon County held a ribbon cutting Friday, for a home on Court Street in Calhoun. The owner-occupied home was fully rehabilitated and renovated, receiving new walls, new electrical courtesy of M&L Electrical, new plumbing, and new permanent fixtures throughout the home.
Two Men Accused of Trafficking Meth
Daniel Jordan Brown, 37, of Lindale, and Justin Kyle Ballew, 35, of Rockmart, are accused of possessing 8.88 pounds of methamphetamine on July 2 at 5:09 p.m. at a traffic stop at 2350 Atlanta Road in Smyrna, near the Windy Hill Road intersection, according to arrest warrants from the Cobb County Police Department. Ballew is also accused of driving a 2003 Ford F-150 with red tape covering the passenger side taillight and no passenger side mirror. He also did not have a driver's license on him at time of the traffic stop, according to the warrant. Brown is charged with trafficking methamphetamine. Ballew is charged with trafficking methamphetamine; driving – brake lights required; driving – no driver side view mirror; and driving without license on person. Both men were arrested on July 2 at 5:30 p.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records. They remain in custody without bond.
