Tri-State Donut Shop Celebrating 57th Anniversary with Sweet Deal
Donut Bank is preparing to celebrate 57 years in business with a sweet deal available only on Thursday, July 18th. There are a lot of wonderful places to grab a donut and a coffee in the tri-state. When I was living in Washington, Indiana, my favorite stop was a local bakery called The Bakery House. I still try to stop by there when I'm in the area, as they have some of my favorite desserts, breakfast sandwiches, and, of course, donuts. Having recently moved to Gibson County, I've found an assortment of local staples in Princeton that I've also come to enjoy, such as Donut Bank. While the Princeton location has only been around since 2008, the business itself has deep community roots.

ALERT: Pike Animal Welfare Shelter (P.A.W.S) in Need of Dog Food
An animal shelter in Petersburg, Indiana, needs your help feeding some hungry dogs awaiting homes. While on my way home from work last week, I received an interesting call from my wife. She was in the house, settling in for the evening, when she heard what could only be described as faint squeaks from our front porch. Upon opening the door, we found a very small kitten clinging to life. It looked as if it had been in an altercation with another animal. Upon further investigation, the poor thing was infested with fleas and ear mites while also dealing with a double eye infection, along with an injury to its left foot. After eight days of giving the little fighter formula and medication, I'm happy to say it's up, moving, and playing as a kitten should.
