Braves runner-up at Zwingle Tournament
On Saturday July 13, the Bellevue Braves faced Epworth in the Zwingle Baseball Tournament and came away with a 3-2 victory. The Braves took the early lead when in the first Andrew Swartz singled, and Ethan Hefel proceeded to drive him in with a triple. In the third Hefel was hit by a pitch, then scored on a Chet Knake double. The next batter up was Cole Swartz who drove in Knake with a single. That was all Braves' right-hander Jordan Nelson would need as he scattered four hits while fanning seven. Mitch Roeder took the loss for Epworth.

Angelia L. Deming, 82, of Sabula, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at her home outside of Sabula. Memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at the Law Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, IL. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pearl City Clay House To Host July Gallery
Infinity Visual and Performing Arts will open its new exhibit, “Imposter Syndrome,” by Joe Grice and Joe Rice at the Pearl City Clay House.
