    North Carolina woman dies in Wyoming County ATV crash

    HERNDON, WV ( WVNS ) — A North Carolina woman died in an ATV accident in Wyoming County over the weekend.

    According to Captain Maddy of the West Virginia State Police, Cpl. M.C. Shifflette of the Jesse Detachment of the WVSP responded to a report of an ATV crash in the Herndon area of Wyoming County on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 11:30 AM.

    New changes announced for 2024-25 West Virginia hunting seasons

    The victim, who was identified as 41-year-old Victoria Ledford, of Mount Holly, North Carolina, died at the scene of the accident. An investigation into the incident revealed Ledford was reportedly not wearing a helmet or seatbelt.

    According to a WVSP press release, alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the accident.

    An investigation remains ongoing.
