Commentary: Public libraries do more than serve communities, they help build them
I've always had a deep love for libraries. I remember the excitement every time our family walked into a library, thrilled by all the books. When I was hired by the Olean Public Library, it felt both surreal and serendipitous. I was going to be the real-life Belle and skate around on ladders putting books away! However, it turned out to be quite the opposite. While I do work with books, I have found that the real focus is working with the community.
Memorial ride is today
The 13th Annual Sarah J. Morrison Memorial Motorcycle Ride will be held Saturday. Registration will start at 10 a.m. at the American Legion in Warren. Cost is a $15 donation per rider. All proceeds will be donated to the Warren Cancer Center for colon cancer patients. The ride will be 120 miles, traveling into Crawford and Erie counties and concluding at the Legion.
