Right Thinkers discussion to focus on constitutional issues
ALLEGANY — The next Right Thinkers meeting is Monday evening at The Hall, with panelists set to discuss constitutional issues. Among the panelists will be New York City attorney Bobbie Anne Cox, who in April 2022 filed suit against Gov. Kathy Hochul and the state Department of Health over a rule “which empowered public health officials to issue isolation and quarantine orders” to control COVID spread.
Smethport Man Charged After Allegedly Faking Overdose Twice
A Smethport man was charged after allegedly faking a drug overdose twice. Pennsylvania State Police charged 38-year-old Johnathan Bufford with disorderly conduct for allegedly faking an overdose to frighten his family two separate times in succession. Bufford was remanded to McKean County Jail.

An Olean woman was arrested Thursday morning for allegedly failing to report an address change. Olean Police report that 30-year-old Courtney L Brown was charged with failure to report an address change as a sex offender, which is a felony. Brown was released with an appearance ticket.

The goal of the Wheel Throwing class is to provide students with a general understanding of basic beginner level throwing techniques such as centering, pulling walls, trimming, and glazing. Participants of the class will gain a broader understanding of wheel throwing and the stages of making a pot. Skill levels can include someone who has been working with clay for 30 years to someone who has never touched clay. We all have something to learn! If desired, bring your own aprons and hand towels.

SBU master’s nursing students get invaluable experience at Trauma I center
ST. BONAVENTURE — Students in the Master’s Entry to Practice (MEP) nursing program at St. Bonaventure University had an experience this summer they won’t soon forget. Seven MEP students completed a 55-hour clinical immersion at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa., a Trauma I center and part of the Guthrie Healthcare System. The clinical experience was a component of two MEP summer courses: Critical Client Nursing Care and Obstetrical Nursing Care.
