Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training set for Aug. 19-20
ST. BONAVENTURE — The Allegany County and Cattaraugus County Suicide Prevention Coalitions are partnering with St. Bonaventure University to host a free two-day Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training on Aug. 19-20. The ASIST is for adults, regardless of prior experience, who wants to be able to provide suicide first aid. Shown to significantly reduce the risk of suicide, the ASIST model teaches effective intervention skills while helping to build suicide prevention networks in the community. Attendance is required for both full days to receive a certificate and 15 CEUs are available for LMSWs and LMHCs.

Victors of the Squatchfest Calling Competition
KANE–The Squatchfest, organized by the Kane Family Drive-In, was successfully held on Saturday, drawing approximately 1,000 attendees. Lowell and Jackie Watts, proprietors of the Kane Family Drive-In, graciously hosted the event. A notable highlight was the Sasquatch Calling competition, where participants of various age groups enthusiastically attempted to imitate the legendary creature’s vocalizations. Biden to reschedule visit to Austin following Trump rally shooting
