Old world tradition celebrated in Putnam Valley
PUTNAM VALLEY- The sounds of the ‘oom pah pah” band, old fashioned Bavarian and Austrian food accompanied by camaraderie and friendship highlighted a weekend German Fest that attracted hundreds of men, women and children to the German-American Social Club in Putnam Valley where entertainment was provided by the group Spitzbaum.
Wife of Yankees' exec Omar Minaya found dead in home
Rachel Minaya, the wife of New York Yankees executive Omar Minaya, was found dead in the couple's New Jersey home on Saturday, per the New York Post. The cause of death has not been announced, but suicide has been ruled out. Omar Minaya was not in the home at the time of Rachel's passing. The couple first met in 1989 and were engaged just a year later.

A 41-year-old Bronx man was shot to death outside the NYCHA building where he lived, police said Monday. Raheem Blake was shot in the chest outside Morrisania Air Rights on Park Ave. near E. 160th St. about 5:55 p.m. Sunday, cops said. Medics rushed him to Lincoln Hospital but he could not be saved. Terex Signs Agreement to Purchase Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) in $2 Billion Cash Deal
Norwalk, Conn.-based Terex Corporation has agreed to purchase Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) from Dover Corporation. The $2 billion all-cash transaction includes solid waste industry brands Heil, Marathon, Curotto-Can, and Bayne Thinline, as well as digital solutions such as 3rd Eye and Soft-Pak. The acquisition strengthens Terex's portfolio and customer base.

NEW YORK (AP) — The second baby of a tree-dwelling kangaroo made its public debut this week in New York, poking its pink head head out of its mom’s furry white pouch. The tiny Matschie’s tree kangaroo, or Dendrolagus matschiei, was born in December and is the second born to the same mother since 2022. It also was the third of its kind born at the Bronx Zoo since 2008.
