MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. - Members of the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department and other first responders were called to the scene of a three-alarm blaze at The Chase on Sunday, July 21.

According to First Assistant Chief Josh Fine, the blaze started in a car around 1 p.m. in the Carlton Drive home’s garage and caused heavy smoke, water, and heat damage in other parts of the structure.

County fire officials closed their investigation after determining that the cause was not suspicious, he said.

The home’s occupants were able to flee to safety. No firefighters were injured, Fine added.

Among the units providing mutual aid were Yorktown Heights, Bedford Hills, Katonah, Pleasantville, Briarcliff, and Armonk. Due to the high heat and humidity that day, additional resources were needed to allow departments to rotate crews.

It took more than four hours to completely extinguish the fire and then to check for any lingering hot spots, Fine said.
