Court documents and statements made in federal court before U.S. District Judge Georgette Castner noted that Hamilton Township Police Division officers conducted a motor vehicle stop of Giliberti. As a result of a search of Giliberti’s vehicle, an officer found a duffle bag on the front passenger-side floor which contained four pipe bombs. Documents described two of the devices as being encased in 5-inch steel pipes and two of the devices were encased in cardboard tubing wrapped in duct tape.

In addition, a search of Giliberti’s Mount Laurel residence by law enforcement recovered a fifth destructive device.

All five of the devices contained numerous metal pellets, an explosive mixture, and a pyrotechnic fuse.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, the charge of possession of a destructive device is punishable by a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
