Two bodies found in Moon Township's Montour Run Creek Friday
MOON TWP. ― Police report bodies of two men were found floating in the Montour Run Creek on Friday afternoon. According to first responders, the call of a body located in a Moon Township portion of the creek was first received shortly after 4 p.m. June 28. As divers worked to recover the body from around 6 feet of water, they soon found a second body nearby in a portion of the creek that was around 10 feet deep.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 1100 block of Grouse Drive around 12:30 p.m., as reported by WPXI, to tackle flames that started in the attic of the first house which sustained extensive damage, according to initial investigations.
City of Pittsburgh redeploys Fireworks Task Force ahead of holiday
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The City of Pittsburgh is bringing back its Fireworks Task Force.From June 30 until July 5, some city police and public safety crews will respond to fireworks-related calls throughout the city.On top of their patrols, police are also offering tips to make sure those using fireworks do so safely.That includes reminders to never light them off within 150 feet of a building or car, in the direction of another person or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.Lighting fireworks off is also prohibited in all city parks and playing fields.To find out when your community is lighting off fireworks for the holiday, check out KDKA's fireworks guide here.
Red Cross assisting 11 families displaced after fire at Pittsburgh area apartment building
By: Chilekasi AdeleMcCANDLESS, Pa. (KDKA) -- This morning, 11 families are displaced after an apartment building in McCandless went up in flames on Saturday night. With the flames out, windows have been boarded up, and some families are now scrambling. Just after 9:30 on Saturday night, multiple fire companies were called to handle the fire at the Royal Manor Apartments. Fire Marshal Jeff Wissner said crews found a fire in the kitchen of one of the apartments once they arrived and got inside. Right now, it's not known if there are any major injuries but one man was treated for minor injuries on the scene. As we said, 11 families have been displaced as a result and the Red Cross is assisting those families. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
