CARO — To say the least, Walt and Meta Jackson were longtime backers of the Tuscola County Fair. Tuscola County Fair Board President Neil Jackson, of Caro, along with his brothers Gale Jackson and Myron Jackson, and sister Bonnie Carolan, lost their mother in May at the age of 89. Sebewaing brothers are ‘vintage’ in win
MAYVILLE — Sebewaing brothers Matt Rocha and Mark Rocha led the Mighty River Hogs of Midland to a 9-3 win over Mayville State Bank in a vintage baseball game on July 18. The contest, waged at Mayville’s Ohmer Park before about 100 fans during the Mayville Sunflower Festival, was played under 1860s “base ball” rules – which meant that a fielder could register an out by catching any batted ball after one hop.
