CARO — Police say that almost five years ago, Kendrick R. Abernathy forged two checks – payable to himself – for a total of $5,699. The checks, from Cass City Oil and Gas Co. to Abernathy, were forged by Abernathy on Sept. 1 and Sept. 6, of 2019.
