MUNGER, Mich. (WJRT) - All weekend long, the 19th annual Munger Potato Festival is happening at the fairgrounds in Munger in Bay County. The event is expected to draw in tens of thousands of people from all around through Sunday for food, music, a demolition derby, a 5K spud run and more.
Woman Killed, Another Wounded in Flint Shooting; Police Seek Witnesses
A fatal shooting in Flint on Sunday afternoon resulted in the death of a woman and left an additional individual hospitalized with injuries deemed not life-threatening. The incident occurred on the 2000 block of S. Dort Highway around 2 p.m., as reported by WNEM. Flint Police Department officers arrived at the scene to find a woman with a deadly gunshot wound.
Free family-friendly event to be held on Flint’s north side

Flint Police Cracking Down on Illegal Street Racing
A city ordinance in Flint on illegal drag racing is in full effect this summer. Flint police seized three vehicles recently for racing on city streets. In 2023, the city passed a zero-tolerance ordinance against reckless driving and illegal street racing after receiving numerous complaints about drivers putting others in harm’s way for racing up and down city streets.

New $15,000 HVAC system approved

Sentencing set for Holly woman
Angela Marie Wallace, 54, of Holly, is expected back in Oakland County Circuit Court for sentencing on Oct. 3 at 8:30 a.m. on her embezzlment case. Wallace’s case dates back to Dec. 6, 2023, when she was arraigned on the two counts in Oakland County 52-2 District Court. She appeared in court and stood mute to the charges. A plea of not guilty was entered by the court. She was released on personal bond of $5,000.
