20-Year-Old Man Dead After Touching Live Wire While Working on Power Pole: ‘Unimaginable Grief’
A 20-year-old utility worker died after he touched a live wire while working on a power pole in Prentiss, Miss., on Tuesday, Aug. 6, according to multiple reports. Jayton Stahlhut died on the job after inspecting the pole in Prentiss — a town 60 miles southeast of Jackson, Miss — local police said, per WLBT. He worked for EXO at the time of his death, which came one day after tropical Storm Debby hit Florida’s Big Bend coast and caused widespread power outages in multiple states.
