Couple found dead inside bedroom after apparent murder-suicide, North Carolina deputies say
FOUR OAKS, N.C. (WNCN) – Deputies found a man and woman lying dead inside a bedroom of a Johnston County home over the weekend. According to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call on Sunday morning from family members of 33-year-old Kyle Trabel asking for a welfare check at this home on Scout Road in Four Oaks. When deputies arrived on scene, they saw heavy smoke coming out of the residence and then requested the fire department, the sheriff’s office said.

Princeton – William “Lil’ Billy” Levi McClung, age 21, passed away on July 21, 2024 following an automobile accident. Born, May 6, 2003, in Johnston County, he was a son of Shane McClung and Tina Pfeffer McClung. Lil’ Billy is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William “Billy” and Judy McClung. Lil’ Billy enjoyed hanging out with his friends and spending time with his family. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited. Lil’ Billy was a weapons enthusiast and a member of the National Rifle Association. He will be missed by his loyal K9 companion of nine years, Roxxie.

Faison Delano Smith, age 86 of Albertson, NC died Tuesday, July 16th, 2024 at his daughter, Katrina’s home in Clayton, NC surrounded by loved ones. Also known as “Buddy Boy”, Faison was born January 4th, 1938 in Kinston, NC to the late Katie Susan “Susie” Grady Smith and Faison Smith. After growing up on the family farm, he served in the Army Reserves. Once discharged he attended NC State College graduating with an Entomology degree. He worked post-graduate doing research with the NC State Entomology Department. He was a lifetime supporter of NC State University.

He was born in Minot, North Dakota in 1960 to Joanne Engelund and Fay Peterson. The family moved to Goldsboro, NC where the family planted their roots. Brad had a passion for cars and people, and he worked as an automotive technician in dealerships as well as owning his own shop at his house. He was known for being one of the best Ford mechanics, but he always took on the challenge of working on any and every vehicle anyone brought to him.
