Montavia Heath Is JCPS 2024 Administrative & Auxiliary Services Employee Of The Year
SMITHFIELD – Montavia Heath, a ten-year veteran with Johnston County Public Schools (JCPS), was named JCPS 2024 Administrative and Auxiliary Services Employee of the Year. A Johnston County native and proud JCPS graduate, Heath has spent all but seven years of his life there. During that time, his family lived in New York when he was a small child. Once they returned, Heath briefly attended Selma Elementary before going to Cleveland Elementary, then Cleveland Middle. His family moved and Heath graduated from West Johnston in 2014. “I am Johnston County through and through,” he remarked.

Zora Mae Tucker Altman, age 74, died Monday, July 15, 2024 at her home in Selma, NC. Born October 19, 1949 in Hartwell, GA to the late Henry Moe and Zora Charles Rucker Tucker, she was the widow of John Leonard Altman and was preceded in death by three brothers, James Tucker, William Tucker and Billy Tucker, her mother-in-law, Lina Mae “Queen Bee” Altman and three in-laws, Mary Williams, Arthur Altman, Jr. and Willie Altman. Zora was an active member of the Hickory Grove Disciples Church near Four Oaks. She retired from Quality Assurance with OPW Global in Clayton, NC.
