  MPISD offers Tiger Track scholarships to teachers

Six Mount Pleasant ISD teachers learned last week that they would be offered MPISD Tiger Track scholarships for the Texas A&M—Commerce Pride Pathway program, pending meeting enrollment requirements.

Pride Pathway is a program at Texas A&M—Commerce that is helping current MPISD employees pursue their bachelor’s degrees and will provide resources for them to obtain their teacher certification in oneyear. TheprogramalsoprovidescurrentMPISD teachers who hold a college degree a path toward teacher certification through graduate level courses which can lead to a master’s degree.

“We are grateful for this partnership between MPISD and Texas A&M University—Commerce”, said MPISD Deputy Superintendent, Debra Malone. “This provides MPISD staff with additional opportunities to pursue their educational goals while still serving students. Ultimately, this is an investment in our staff, our students, and our incredible MPISD community.”
