    Soon they’ll be almost everywhere. They’ll be in the display ads. They’ll be in the classified ads. They’ll even be in the news. They’ll be in your home. They can’t be stopped. They want to cause you ... loads of fun.

    They’re the “Bingo Bugs”, those crafty critters that next week will be crawling all over the pages of the Mount Pleasant Tribune Starting June 5, 2024, readers of the Tribune will be eligible to play Newspaper Bingo for a weekly cash prize of $100.

    Since the “Bingo Bugs” are on their way, the Tribune their arrival and encourages the community to give them a hearty welcome. Stop by your favorite participating merchant and ask for an official “Newspaper Bingo” card.

    Free bingo cards will be available each week in the businesses of the participating merchants for players who are at least 18 years old. The rules of the game, which are detailed in an advertisement in each Issue of the Tribune, stipulate that only one card will be allowed per visit. A person, however, may visit as many times as he or she wishes each day of the week to obtain additional bingo cards.

    To play, one must check the ads in each Issue of the Tribune and throughout all pages. The ads of the participating merchants will include “Bingo Bugs”, which will be stamped with the call letters and numbers distinctive to the game. If one matches all 24 numbers on an official bingo card with the total of the numbers published in the Tribune each week, one has a “Newspaper Bingo,” and is a winner.

    The winner or winners will share a prize of $100 in “Bingo Bucks”, which will spend the same as cash in the stores of any of the participating merchants. If there is no winner during a week, the $100 prize will be added to the following week’s prize.. a minimum of $900 will be given away in nine weeks over the duration of the game.

    Occasionally, the “Bingo Bugs” may appear in other parts of the paper. Don’t miss an issue and be sure to check every page of the Tribune for any special bonus numbers All winning cards must be returned to the Tribune’s office at 202 S. Van Buren by 5:00 p.m. on Monday for the start of a new game each Wednesday.

    There is no obligation or purchase necessary. A copy of the Tribune will be available for public perusal at the newspaper’s office and the local library.

    Newspaper Bingo gives people a fun game to play and a chance at winning a prize. No purchase is necessary, but look around, see what your local merchants have to offer!

    If one is a winner, one must print one’s name, address and telephone number on the back of the card. The card then should be mailed or brought into the Tribune office by the prescribed deadline. A new game will start each Wednesday. The correct color of the card that is valid for that week’s play will be announced on the paper’s regular promotional page. The first week’s color will be BLUE. Have fun playing!
