MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas ( KETK ) – Mount Pleasant Mayor Tracy Craig awarded four men for their swift action in alerting occupants of a home on fire, helping them escape without being harmed.

According to a release, on April 1 a home near Pilgrim’s West Kill plant caught fire. Quentin Coffey, a shuttle driver, reportedly saw the fire and notified his supervisor Roger Brannon Jr.

Coffey, Brannon and superintendents Daniel Tucker and Tyrone Wilkerson sprang into action to help the occupants. The occupants escaped without being harmed and the house was reportedly deemed a total loss.

“This action saved lives and paved the way for the Mount pleasant Fire Department to arrive and take over the incident,” Craig said.
