Bedford Borough has released the tentative construction schedule for replacement of cast iron pipe waterlines from July 8-11. One crew will be working on East Pitt Street between Wood and Bedford streets, with parking restricted on both sides of East Pitt to allow for one-lane traffic controlled by temporary lights. A second crew will be performing asphalt restoration on Juliana Street between Pitt and Penn streets, and Penn between West and Richard streets on July 8, and on Penn between Richard and Anderson streets on July 9. In both areas, parking is restricted to allow for two-way traffic. On July 10 and July 11, the crew is scheduled for project restoration throughout the borough.

Harry Feight McKinley, Sr., 90, born January 20, 1934, a resident of Provo, Utah, and formerly of Bedford, Pennsylvania, passed from this life on July 1, 2024. He had been living at Ashford Memory Center in Springville, Utah, for the past eleven months.

BERLIN ― Susan and George Walker, owners of Whitehorse Brewery, have created another craft beer for a cause about which they are passionate. Whitehorse Brewery just created “Hope by Cancer Bridges,” a blood orange pale ale for Cancer Bridges, 2816 Smallman St., Pittsburgh, which offers unique programming to meet the needs of the family. It provides all-free services to anyone impacted by cancer including the diagnosed, their family members and those who have lost someone to cancer to 35 counties including Somerset.
Wheeling Football’s Week Eight Matchup with Frostburg State shifted to Thursday night
Wheeling, W. Va. - Throughout the season, some of the top football matchups across the MEC get shifted to Thursday night primetime matchups. The Wheeling University Football team already has one Thursday night matchup to open the season, but one of their conference meetings is getting the shift to Thursday night. The team's week eight matchup has been moved to Thursday, October 24th, with kick-off at 7 PM.
